The Liaison Office of Democritus University of Thrace was established in 1997, within the framework of the Operational Program for Education and Initial Vocational Training, with the aim of serving as an information center for students and graduates of the University, with the ambition of becoming the link between the University and the productive community. More specifically, the Liaison Office:
- It informs students and graduates of the University about available job positions in companies and businesses in the wider public and private sector, at local and national level, as well as about internship positions.
- It provides information about postgraduate programs at Greek and foreign universities.
- It informs users about available scholarships and grants in Greece and abroad.
- It contributes to providing information about Erasmus+ Mobility Programs.
- It provides information on training seminars and conferences.
- It provides counseling services through career advisors and an e-mentoring system.
- Provides distance learning services on topics such as CV writing, professional rights, technical terminology, etc.
- It organizes conferences and seminars of educational and professional interest.
It conducts studies on the labor market situation, the specialties in demand, the absorption of graduates, and the recording of students’ needs regarding the services of the Liaison Office. The results are used by the Office as key guidelines for determining actions in the area of contact with businesses and for designing a plan for approaching first-year students
